reporter and video journalist based in the S.F. Bay Area

I started my career as a travel writer in India, before moving to the Bay Area to study documentary filmmaking at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.

There, I produced short documentaries about the rise of video disinformation, the early days of AI-generated art, and bread (yes, bread).

Now, I use my visual storytelling skills to create social-first videos to complement my reporting at Bay City News, where I cover the East Bay.

Before my current role, I was part of the inaugural cohort of the California Local News Fellowship, covering the Indian-American diaspora in depth for India Currents.

Supported by the USC California Health Equity Fellowship, I reported a three-part series on the health needs of California’s Sikh population, which was featured in an episode of KQED’s The California Report Magazine. I’ve also been featured on KQED’s Forum to talk about my immigration reporting.

I’m also working on a long-form investigative series for India Currents about visa fraud, as part of Type Investigations’ Springboard Project.

When I am not being sucked into Wikipedia wormholes, I am noodling on the guitar, cooking, watching test cricket, playing tennis, or being sucked into YouTube wormholes. I’m also always fine-tuning my resumé, because it’s never quite right.
